Lonesome Crowded World
(Graphic design, copy writing, collaboration)
Working in collaboration with a number of creatives this anthology was designed to address and discuss feelings of loneliness and isolation in a busy, digital-dependant world. With support and funding from Jerwood Arts (https://jerwoodarts.org/) this book is the final result of a number of talents working together.
With illustrations provided by Paige Lyons (https://www.instagram.com/paigelyon/), my role was to format the book, set the copy, choose fonts and set up the document ready to be printed. Contributors to the content of the anthology are George Woodwright, Melis Anik, Isabelle Kenyon, Ezzie Gleeson-Ward and myself.
The book was designed and set in InDesign using the font Leafy (https://wildtype.design/product/leafy-free-brush-font/) and Utopia Std with plenty of white space left to allow the copy to breathe and resonate. The unjustified copy was intentional, on request of the project runner. Overall the design is simple and clean with the illustrations providing the colour palette.
